Play French Roulette at EuroGrand Casino

If you're looking for a roulette game with the best odds, then Playtech's French Roulette is one to play due to its favourable game play rules and wide variety of wagers that pay even money.

French Roulette (or European Jackpot) differs from the classic game of roulette but if you have a general grasp on the standard variant, will not prove difficult to play at all. The table layout differs slightly from the American and European Roulette versions with the various bets in different places and French words featured on the table, these however are minor and you'll find that you get used to it all pretty quickly.

The only main difference to be aware of is that the table offers two places to be on the Dozens. Like European Roulette, the wheel has 37 slots with a single zero, giving the house an edge of around 2.7% instead of the 5.6% you face in American Roulette games. See here for more winning roulette tips.

The odds are also in your favour because even when you lose wagers on Red or Black, Odd or Even and 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 you'll get half back if the ball lands on zero.

The most complex aspects of the game of French Roulette for novice players are probably the Neighbour and Announce wagers (also known as call bets) which are accessible via the menu at the bottom right hand corner of your screen (the have French language labels).

Neighbour wagers are actually simpler than you'd think. These wagers bet on a particular number and its neighbours (the numbers on either side of it). So for example you choose a number from 1 to 4 and when you bet on it, the number of neighbours you select will also be bet on. So for a 4 neighbour bet, you will get your selected number and the four numbers on each side of it on the wheel - or a 9 number wager.

The Announce bets offered in the game are as follows:

  • Voisins de zero: wagers on all numbers of the "Voisins" arc including 2, 3, 4, 7, 12, 15, 18, 19, 21, 22, 25, 26, 28, 29, 32 and 35. This wager will take 9 chips.
  • Tier du Cylinder: this is a wager on all numbers that make up the Tier arc including 5, 8, 10, 11, 13, 16, 23, 24, 27, 30, 33 and 36. This option will require 6 chips to cover the bet.
  • Orphans: this option wagers on all numbers of the Orphans arc including 1, 6, 9, 14, 17, 20 31 and 34. With 5 chips being used to cover this bet.
  • Finales en plein (Final Bets): wagers on all numbers with the same last number - so for example, 3, 13, 23, 33. These take 4 chips to cover the bet.
  • Finales en cheval: these are a combination of Split bets appearing on the table that end in the same numbers. So for example, if you're wagering on Finales en cheval 4/7, you'll effectively place the following Split bets: 4-7, 14 to 17 and 24 to 27.

You don't have to memorise any of the above as they will all be indicated on the board when you click the various betting options.

As an added benefit, Playtech allows you to play with a number of features in their premium graphics section including changing the colour of the table, direction of the wheel spins and your views so that you can enjoy the game just the way you like it each time you play!
